**Borjan Geshkovski** is a PhD student at Universidad AutÃ³noma de Madrid (UAM). He earned a Master's degree in Mathematics at the University of Bordeaux. He first did an internship on parabolic variational inequalities, optimal control of obstacles and free boundary problems under the supervision of Professor Enrique Zuazua, before joining the team as a PhD student later.

#### The interplay of control and deep learning

Deep supervised learning roughly consists in solving a discretised optimal control problem subject to a nonlinear, discrete-time dynamical system, called an artificial neural network.

#### Analysis, numerics and control for the obstacle problem

In this tutorial, we will present and elaborate an optimal control strategy for the obstacle problem in two space dimensions using Python's FEniCS toolbox. Different meshes and obstacles are considered.

Stabilization of a coupled PDE-ODE system by means of a feedback LQR control.
